Your Own Site

Your Own Site

All you need is a site on which you place adverts. The advertisers, , who promote the ads, will pay you. They pay you using several different methods such as PPC (pay per click) PPA (pay per action) CPA (cost per action) a percentage of the sale, or simply a standing monthly payment for just having their ad on your site.

Google Adsense

Once you have a professional up and running website, you can apply to Google to be included on their Adsense advertising programme. They automatically monitor the content of your web pages and insert ads that are most appropriate to the subject.

This cleverly targeted advertising is more profitable for you. The more people click on these relevant ads, the more money Google will pay you. Don’t try to fiddle the numbers, lots of people have tried with some very sophisticated methods and been caught out, it isn’t worth it.

* Alongside these you can carry Affiliate ads for specific companies who will pay you a percentage commission of the sale that went through your site. This commission can vary from 4% – 15%.

These are called affiliates. These ads work for you 24 hours a day, whether you are there or not. You could be out of the country and these ads will still be earning for you.

Take note

I am not saying that you don’t have to do any work…far from it. As with any business, the more you put into it, the more you get out. Your site must be constantly upgraded or your clients will get bored, and Google will spot that you haven’t put anything new on it, and drop you down the rankings.

* CPA Cost Per Action or CPA (sometimes known as Pay Per Action or PPA) is a on line advertising pricing model, where the advertiser pays for each specified action (a purchase, a form submission, and so on) linked to the advertisement.

Direct response advertisers consider CPA the optimal way to buy on line advertising, as an advertiser only pays for the ad when the desired action has occurred. An action can be a product being purchased, a form being filled, etc. The desired action to be performed is determined by the advertiser.

Ready made sites are the best solution for those of you who have very little technical knowledge, and want to be up and running within a short time. When I first began making money on the internet, I bought a fully ready written, predesigned ones, so, I can verify the simplicity of set-up and operation.

I initially chose this social network company because of the help and advice backup. They provide written, audio, and video screencasts. If this isn’t enough, you can actually arrange to phone them, and speak to a real person. I still own and run my original site as well as this one and several others.

Choosing a Domain Name for Search Engine Optimisation

This is often thought to be the most important decision you will have to make. There are several reasons for this.

1) It has to tell the web searcher that he or she has got the right site before he or she even clicks on it, eg. “” or “”.

2) A good domain is valuable real estate, Even if your website doesn’t make you rich through its main idea, you might be able to sell your domain name for many thousands of dollars.

How to choose that perfect domain name

What are the words you would use to search for the information on your site.

Type in Google search bar “google adword keyword tools” and in this site type your chosen search words for your future site.

You ideally want a monthly search result or suggested keyword result of around 10,000, not millions.

Test out a few unusual adwords suggestions. It might not be what you would have typed to search, but someone has.

Once you have come up with a few possibles, go to “namecheap” and try a search for these chosen keywords as they are called.

You want one with .com if possible. If the day comes when you want to sell your domain name, the .com’s sell the best and get the best prices.

When ‘search engines’ as they are called, such as Google, Yahoo, Microsoft Bing, crawl over website, they are looking for relevant words that match what people are searching for.

Some of these words are hidden, but you have put them in the keyword section when you built your site, but the search engines can see them. You increase the potency of these keywords by cleverly including them in the copy (the text that can be seen and read on your pages eg. Like this you are reading now).

A ‘keyword’ can actually consist of several words. The ones that consist of several words are called ‘long tail keywords’. Eg. It could be as simple as ‘money’ but this would return around 1.23 billion results.

You would really struggle to get your website noticed in this lot. Now if you lengthen it to ‘money making’ the search results drop to 439 million.

A big drop, but still way too many to be competitive. Again we add one more word ‘moneymakingmethods’ and now the results drop to 13 million.

You can see the massive drop each time we make the keyword one word longer.   In this example, each extra wordreduces the number of search results by a factor of 11.

This rule doesn’t apply to every search term or keyword so, experiment and try as many as possible before searching ‘namecheap’ for your perfect domain name.

Try and think sideways to reduce your competition even further. For instance, if you have a love of fishing, using ‘angling’ would reduce the search results by around 230 million from 238 million to 8 million.

This would be still too many for you to have a chance to be on the first page of Google, but you can see that just a simple term change can make a difference of 3000%.

Buying Valuable Domain Names to Sell

The beauty of affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to carry any form of stock. It is like taking a large superstore on a rental of around $150/£100 per year lease and, getting lots of famous top brand name businesses to stock it for you and, their staff doing all the selling. In return for you allowing them to be there, they pay you a commission of 3% – 60%.

All you have to do is get people to go to your superstore.

Your superstore could carry a larger variety of stock than even Amazon. Anything from a penis enlarger to a fabulous cruise, a bouquet of flowers to an investment fund for your grandchildren. The opportunities are virtually endless.

There are already many affiliate marketing sites on the internet, some making very little money, and some making millions. All you must do, is think of an original idea to draw visitors to your website.

I say, “All you must do” with tongue in cheek, as this is like saying, “all I must do is find a fairy at the bottom of my garden” and all my wishes will be answered.

The annoying and tantalizing thing about this statement is that it is true. Like ‘facebook’ or ‘twitter’ they weren’t really original or super complicated, but they caught the attention of millions of people, and now they are worth billions not millions.

The chances of this happening to you is exponentially remote, so what do you do? Start with the simple intention of making a little extra cash and use this as a learning period.

Your first ideas may not earn you anything, but don’t let this put you off. Many of today’s tycoons went bust at least once, but they used these experiences to learn from their mistakes.

Colleges often cost more than the university of life. You could waste a load of money and valuable life learning from other peoples experiences. This is all you get when you get advice from so-called experts. There is no substitute for hands-on experience. Don’t listen to me, just do it!

Think of a product you want to promote. Take the word that best describe the product such as “slim” or “slimming” for a slimming product.
